Necip Fazıl Şanlı

Necip Fazıl Şanlı is a partner at Sanlı Law Firm in Istanbul, where his practice concentrates on international arbitration, construction law, and M&A and contracts law. He advises clients in the construction, engineering, and defence sectors, with particular emphasis on the drafting, negotiation, and administration of EPC contracts.

Mr. Şanlı has been a member of the Sanlı Law Firm team since 2015, and has represented clients in international arbitrations before the ICC and ICSID throughout that time, acting for both private companies and state-affiliated entities in disputes arising out of complex, high-value projects. Alongside this international caseload, he has represented numerous clients in local arbitration proceedings.

His construction practice sits deliberately close to his arbitration work. Advising clients in the construction, engineering, and defence sectors, he is regularly involved in the negotiation and drafting of EPC contracts from the outset of a project, as well as in the disputes, claims, and arbitrations that arise once those contracts are being performed.

His practice is complemented by transactional experience in M&A and general contracts work, advising clients on the corporate and commercial aspects of their projects and business operations alongside the contentious matters he handles. Mr. Şanlı holds an LL.M. in International Arbitration from Queen Mary University of London’s programme in Paris, completed in 2020, for which he was awarded the European Union’s Jean Monnet Scholarship.
