Betül Argun

Betül Argun is an associate at Şanlı Law Firm in Istanbul, which she joined in 2024. Her practice centers on arbitration and on regulatory compliance, with particular experience in disputes arising out of EPC contracts and share purchase agreements, and in advising clients on economic sanctions and trade control regimes.

Ms. Argun has been involved in a range of local and international arbitration cases, most often centered on disputes arising out of EPC contracts and share purchase agreements. Working within the firm’s construction and M&A-related dispute practice, she supports matters through the full arc of an arbitration, from case preparation and evidence gathering to the drafting of submissions, giving her a close, practical grounding in how construction and transactional disputes are actually argued and won.

Alongside this contentious work, Ms. Argun has developed experience in compliance matters, including US sanctions and trade control regimes, an area of increasing importance for clients operating across borders. She works closely with clients on the practical, day-to-day questions these regimes raise in the course of their business, helping them apply sanctions and trade control requirements to live transactions and operational decisions rather than treating compliance as a matter apart from the underlying business.

Since joining Şanlı Law Firm in 2024, Ms. Argun has worked closely with the firm’s partners across its arbitration, construction, and compliance practices, contributing to matters for clients in the construction, engineering, and defense sectors.
